Marked: Trifari with Crown, Pat Pend; chain marked Trifari, Pat Pend (on the clasp that fits onto the pin's hook)
Reference: Part of the 1950 'Jeweled Symphony' series - advertised in the Trifari 1950 Christmas advertisement, Life Magazine, 4 Dec 1950, p 156; click thumbnail above to view. Patent (for a necklace) is reproduced below (scroll down); designer A Philippe, filed July, granted Nov 1950. Women's Wear Daily 14 July 1950, p 26, described the Jeweled Symphony collection 'featuring combinations of emerald and sapphire, or solid sapphire, ruby, emerald, gold and crystal.'
