Description: sterling vermeil, rhinestones, lucite
Marked: SCP, England
Reference: This is a Trifari production of the patented Philippe design, for Ciro of Bond St, a British company which had opened its first US branch on Fifth Ave in 1939, expanding to most major US cities by the 1960s. It put its stamp on pieces manufactured for it by DuJay, Mazer, Boucher and Trifari throughout that period. For this design stamped Trifari see TKF7044; there is no difference apart from additional detail on the feet of this piece. Despite the England stamp, it is probable this was manufactured by Trifari in the US. Patent is reproduced below (scroll down); designer A Philippe, filed Feb, granted March 1943 Reference Links - tkf7044
