Reference: The clasp for the pin clip, gold Trifanium and spangles construction, and lack of reference to the patent in the marks, confirm this as a 1948 revival of the 1941 patent design (which was in pave and enamel). This 1948 version is shown in Schiffer, Best of Costume Jewelry, p. 107; and Brunialti, American Costume Jewelry - Art and Industry (2008) Vol 2 p 95. For the original 1941 clip - for which the patent is reproduced below (scroll down); designer A Philippe, filed Jan, granted Feb 1941 - see A. Gordon, 20th Century Costume Jewelry, p. 120, and TKF7850.
