Reference: Patent is reproduced below (scroll down); designer A Philippe, filed July, granted Oct 1940. This is a variant on one link in the patent, which also appears in 1940 designs for pin clips (Des Pat Nos 122095, 122096). A variant, with sections of double row alternating with the patent's large flower, was advertised for sale at Stix Baer and Fuller, with ruby stones and the name 'Sunset Fire', price $12.50, in the St Louis Globe Democrat, 12 Nov 1940, p 5; click thumbnail above to view advertisement
