Marked: Trifari with Crown, Des Pat No 137542, 9 (both pins); smaller pin also marked COPR
Reference: Our thanks to Zara Thomas, who points out that this was advertised as a boxed set, with the name 'The Royal Pair', in Ladies Home Journal, Dec 1948 - click thumbnail above to view advert. The COPR stamp on the smaller pin confirms the 1948 date. For the patent: Brunialti, American Costume Jewelry - Art and Industry (2008) Vol 2 p 136, in sterling with cabochons, in three sizes (none of which correspond to these pins); patent is reproduced below (scroll down); designer A Philippe, dated 1945
