Reference: The series, using striking combinations of shaded stones, began before the change of marks in Dec 1937, and was described in Womens Wear Daily 28 July 1939 p 11, as 'Ombre stone' jewelry, contemporary with (rather than 'inspired by') the French exhibits at the then current NYC World's Fair.
