Reference: Mark, design, construction, and use of Sterling date this to 1942-47. Women's Wear Daily, 11 Oct 1943, p 3, reported the Nettie Rosenstein collection currently displayed at Bonwit Teller NYC, promoting (because it was used in) the forthcoming film of Jane Eyre (starring Orson Welles and Joan Fontaine, screenplay by Aldous Huxley) - 'the jewels are all Victorian, including fascinating bug and butterfly pins'. WWD 26 Nov 1943, p 16, further describes 'gold butterflies with jewels in various sizes'
