Reference: Brunialti, American Costume Jewelry - Art and Industry (2008) Vol 1 p 37, for the manufacturer and the 1938 'Yankee Doodlers' series designed by Lester Gaba (for whom see also p 53). All the charms were patented, and also produced as separate pins - patents are reproduced below (scroll down); designer Lester Gaba, filed Feb, granted March (the Eagle and Bell, April) 1938.
