Marked: B (with serifs) on one clip; mechanism marked US Pat No 2072080
Reference: Mark, design, construction, and non-use of Sterling date this to 1938-42. The patent for the mechanism (reproduced below) was filed Nov 1936 and granted March 1937 to Marcel Boucher personally (not as assignor to Mazer, for whom he was working then).
