Reference: Womens Wear Daily 16 Oct 1942, p 20, describing the current Boucher collection, in which 'patriotic motifs headline', including 'the American eagle in gold or silver with the outspread wings studded in rhinestones'. Mark (the characteristic single letter with serifs), design, construction, subject matter and non-use of Sterling confirm the attribution and date this to 1940-42.
