Reference: The use of the smooth sapphire cabochon, textured detailing on the gold, and the pearls, identify this as a 1956 revisitation of the patented 1949 design (the patent is reproduced below) - for which see TKF7266. The 1949 patent was still valid in 1956 (7 year term), so the number was stamped on these pieces.
