Reference: Patents are reproduced below (scroll down); designer A Philippe, dated 1945. Click thumbnail above to view advertisement in Vogue, June 1945. The patent number on the earrings is incorrect; the actual patent (143989) was not granted until 1946; the stamped number refers to a 1945 patent for a leaf and cabochon pin clip by Philippe of similar design to this set.
