Reference: The MB Boucher sterling version of this piece (see BOU1698) part of the Spring 1945 collection described in Women's ear Daily, 19 Jan 1945, p 14: 'there is a nice, subtle touch of humor in some of these pieces, such as the dachshund with a sleek body made entirely of square-cut stones'. Brunialti, American Costume Jewelry - Art and Industry (2008) Vol 1, p. 63, dated 1945, other pieces in an 'extraordinary series of brooches' using these stones and design concept. The Parisina mark was used by Boucher's Mexican operation, which made silver and sterling pieces in the mid 1940s.
